If you are planning on keeping your cigars for longer than 1-2 weeks, you will need a humidor. Cigars must be kept below the maximum temperature of 73°F (23°C) and between 65-72% humidity. Ideal conditions are 70°F (21°C) and 70% humidity. Proper cigar storage is crucial. What real benefit do humidors offer cigars?

A handmade cigar in most cases are constructed with long-filler tobacco. The pure tobacco leaves lack any chemicals or preservatives that cigarettes normally have. Therefore, its best to store them in an environment that has the correct level of humidity to preserve the moisture content of the cigar. Otherwise, they will dry out and crumble.

I filled my humidifier, how long before I do it again?

After initially filling your humidifier, you will need to periodically maintain and re-fill the humidifier as needed. For humidors between 0-100 Count, every 30 days should suffice. 51-100 Count humidors with large humidifiers should be refilled every 45 days. 101-2300 Count humidors with larger or multiple humidifiers should be done between 30-45 days or if you find any cigars that may be staring to becoming more stiff to the touch. Be sure to check cigars of your humidor routinely on ALL sides just in case one side of the humidor may be more humidified than the other.
