| Can I use distilled water in the humidifier instead of the Activator solution? |
|
Yes. However, it must be distilled water and not tap water, as tap water will damage the humidor. You may need to refill the humidifier more often, and it will not assist in preventing mold in the humidor but can assist in keeping the humidification level where the humidor needs to be to preserve the cigars. |
| What makes the humidity level so important in a humidor? |
| The wrapper and the tobacco of a cigar is grown and made where the relative humidity ranges between 60-75%. The moisture is kept within the cigar which gives it the unique taste and flavor that makes a quality cigar. It is important to maintain that moisture of the cigar to keep it in its integrity. If it dries out, the cigar itself becomes both dry and brittle and has little chance of rehydrating or ever becoming again the premium cigar it once was. It is primarily because of this that the humidity level kept in a humidor is constantly maintained. |
