This digital hygrometer works perfectly for all cigar humidors. With a built-in thermometer, these hygrometers accurately measure and display temperature and relative humidity to the 10th of a degree. It assures that your cigars are stored in the humidor at the ideal environment and kept in prime smoking conditions.

The hygrometer can be set to read the temperature and humidity in celsius or fahrenheit with the push of a button. Unlike analog gauges, this digital unit never requires calibration, as there are no springs to stretch or moving parts to wear out.

What causes mold?

The conditions for mold to grow would be if the humidor is too moist or if there is not enough exchange of air between the humidor and its environment. Be careful on how much water you add the humidifier. It should be moist, not damp. If you see water dripping out of a standard sponge humidifier, you’ve added too much. Let the humidifier sit for 10-15 minutes to drip out the excess water to ensure the condition of the humidor does not promote mold. Additionally, be sure to wipe down the humidor with either distilled water or an activator solution prior to storing the cigars in the humidor.

What is a Calibration Kit?

In short, a calibration kit is used mostly for analog hygrometers and works the same way as the “salt test”. The kit utilizes a relative humidity standard of approximately 75%. The way the kit works is by simply placing the analog hygrometer into the bag of the calibration kit and let it sit for 24 hours. Afterwards, the analog hygrometer will be calibrated and will read properly the humidity level within the humidor.
